What are Silhouette Soft® Threads?

Silhouette Soft® is the only resorbable suture with bi-directional resorbable cones and is made of Polylactic Acid. The cones are made of Polylactic Acid and Glycolic Acid, totally resorbable, biocompatible and biodegradable components.

Silhouette Soft® threads act by stimulating fibroblasts and collagen production, helping to increase volume and restore facial contours gradually and naturally.

Polylactic Acid

Polylactic acid, or PLA, is a well-known polymer long used in numerous biomedical and pharmaceutical applications. It has a long history as a resorbable suture.

Its degradation process acts by hydrolyzing ester bonds as they are reabsorbed through the metabolic system with the production of lactic acid, a substance found naturally in the body.

The Silhouette Soft® Cones

The cones have a 360º surface to immediately tension and provide anchor points in the subcutaneous tissue. The induction of collagen around the cones creates a solid support of the soft tissue and prevents the risk of migration or extrusion.

The cone is soft and smooth and avoids any sensation of itching or discomfort on the part of the patient. They provide a firm anchorage and degrade slowly as encapsulation occurs through them.

The Silhouette Soft® Threads Procedure

The procedure seeks to achieve volume by repositioning or tightening the skin in the areas where the Silhouette Soft sutures are placed, through the process of lifting and compressing the facial tissue, taking into account the following results:

• Redefinition of the face and recovery of volumes.
• Lasting results.
• Immediate correction.
• Painless procedure.
• Minimum recovery time.

The projection of the malar zone will improve with the middle third in case of loss of malar volume. Patients with a flaccid jaw line will obtain a firmer and more regular contour.

This intervention is performed on an outpatient basis and does not require incisions.

Post treatment and Recovery

Dr. Puig will provide you with post-treatment recommendations.

After the procedure, a small edema, a small depression or irregularities in the entry points of the sutures may appear. These problems usually disappear within a few days after treatment.

Recommendations to keep in mind after undergoing treatment with Silhouette Soft® threads.

• Apply an ice pack (covered to avoid direct contact) after the operation if necessary.
• If you feel any pain, take analgesics such as paracetamol.
• Sleep on your back with your head elevated by pillows for the first 3-5 nights.
• Wash, shave, and dry your face gently, without massaging or rubbing for the first 5 days.
• Avoid using make-up for as long as possible (minimum 24 hours).
• Avoid direct over-exposure to the sun and tanning beds for 2 weeks.
• Avoid face and neck massages and other cosmetic procedures for 1 month.
• Avoid sports, especially high-impact sports for 2 weeks.
• Do not use saunas for 3 weeks.
• Avoid dental surgery for 3 weeks.
• Avoid excessive face and neck movements for 2 weeks.

The price is determined based on the exact needs of the patient and the scope of the treatment required. If additional procedures are performed with the non-surgical facelift, this will also affect the cost.
