The Breast Reduction Procedure

Breast reduction operation, technically called Reductive Mammaplasty, is a surgical procedure in which the breast is reduced by removing excess breast fat, tissue and skin to achieve  the properly breast size for your body.

It is recommended in those patients suffering from physical problems such as back pain, erosion in the submammary groove by rubbing and sweating, and sometimes even the breast reduction when there are psychological problems arising from social pressure.

The operation of aesthetic surgery of reduction of breasts, is recommendable in those patients who suffer problems of physical type like back pain, appearance of erosions in the furrow submammary by the rubbing and the sweat, and even sometimes the reduction of breast is realized when psychological problems derived from the social pressure exist.

Operation Recovery and Follow-Up

After the Breast Reduction intervention, a compressive bandage will be placed that will be used for 2-3 days, after this period is replaced by a sports bra that should be worn for about 2 weeks.

In the following 3-4 days it is possible to feel some pain that will be combated with analgesics prescribed by Dr. Puig.

It is advisable not to make efforts for at least 1 week. After this period, the stitches are removed and, depending on the patient’s work, the patient can be reinstated.

For good healing it is not advisable to sunbathe for at least 30 days after surgery.

At bedtime, avoid sleeping on your stomach.
